Natural Flavors

Modere is committed to earning your trust, and the safety of our customers is our highest priority. The natural flavors included in some Modere products are fruit or vegetable blends. While their exact components are proprietary and protected as trade secrets, every ingredient is sourced from a selected group of carefully screened vendors, and must pass rigorous reviews and testing to ensure that their purity, quality and efficacy meet our strictest clean label standards. Additionally, any major allergens are always disclosed on the label.

There is a misconception that some manufacturers hide their use of MSG by referring to “natural flavors” in their ingredient lists. However, MSG is not a natural flavor and must be disclosed on the label if added to the product. Modere products do not contain added MSG.

The FDA defines natural flavor or natural flavoring as the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate, or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional. Natural flavors include the natural essence or extractives obtained from plants.
