Modere Mouth Rinse contains a trace amount of sodium phosphate via phosphoric acid which is used as a process aid agent. Sodium phosphate is commonly used in the food industry and, because such a small amount of the ingredient is used in our product, has not been shown to cause damage to tooth enamel or oral irritation. For reference, studies have shown that a pH of less than four causes tooth decay, and sodas commonly have a pH of less than 3. The Mouth Rinse has a pH somewhere around 7.5. We continuously work with EWG to ensure that our products meet their rigorous criteria and we stand by our claims of safety and effectiveness for this and every formula we produce.
